Occasionally, you will see error dialog boxes pop up while surfing the Web. Don't be alarmed. Here are a few explanations of some common ones:
"Unable to Locate - No DNS Entry" - This error will appear if you've tried to access a website address which might be invalid or no longer available. Check the address and try it again. This error can also appear if you've tried to open your web browser without first dialing up and connecting to the Internet. In this case, you will see the error because there is no active connection between your computer and the internet, and quite simply - your web browser can't connect to the website. Be sure your modem is connected!
"No Response from Server" - Occasionally this error will appear due to minor web "glitches" - the computer on which the website lives might be "down" or temporarily unreachable across the Internet. If you know that the address is a valid one, be patient and try again a few minutes later.
This is an easy one. Can you spot the error? If you use HTTP:// in front of the website address, make sure you don't omit letters. Your web browser will get confused. If you are receiving other error messages and need assistance, please send email to support@southland.net. |
