| This page will familiarize you with Fetch and explain how to use the program to upload your web pages to our server. Fetch is Macintosh FTP (file transfer protocol) client software developed at
Dartmouth College which makes it easy to send/receive files to/from other computers on the
Internet. Fetch can be obtained at the following address:
To Launch Fetch:
In the Host field: In the User ID field: In the Password field: In the Directory field: Example:
When you have completed the previous steps, click on OK. Fetch will then connect to the Southland Internet web server. You will be logged into your private web directory on our server. You will then get a dialogue box similar to the one shown below.
To Upload (send) your HTML documents to our web server: Uploading Multiple Files: To delete a file in your Southland web directory: To create a Shortcut:
Name the shortcut something which will distinguish it as your Southland web page - example: My Web page or Southland Web page. To use a shortcut, go to the File menu, choose Open Shortcut, and select the name you used for your Southland shortcut. You will automatically be connected to your Web directory on our server. Cancelling and/or Quitting: If you are experiencing problems connecting to our web server using Fetch, please feel free to call us at 714-441-3000 or send email to webmaster@southland.net.
