| RETURN HOME | adding access counter |
Southland Internet members can add an access counter to their webpage which will reflect how many people have visited the page. To add a counter, you'll need to do two things: 1) Send email to webmaster@southland.net with the subject line add counter. Your Southland Internet login name will be added to the CGI script privledges list. 2) Next, add the follow HTML on your webpage - wherever you'd like the counter to appear: <img src="http://www.southland.net/SCRIPTS/counter.exe?link=login&style=neat&width=4"border=0> NOTE: you must replace "login" with your Southland Internet login name. For instance, if your email address is joe@southland.net, then your HTML code for the counter will look like this: <img src="http://www.southland.net/SCRIPTS/counter.exe?link=joe&style=neat&width=4"border=0> The "width=4" portion of the HTML above means that 4 digits will appear in your counter. If you would like only 3 digits to appear, you can change the width to 3. If you'd like 5 digits to appear, just change the width to 5. The counter will not automatically add an extra digit when you reach a certain number of accesses, so we suggest that you start out with 4 and change it to 5 if you reach close to 9500 accesses. For questions about this script, or to report problems with it, send email to webmaster@southland.net |
