Southland
Internet's co-location service offers an opportunity for your company
to store your own server at our offices. This service provides
a direct, high-speed T-1 connection to the internet backbone. Server
co-location provides performance and flexibility without the expense
of installing and maintaining an Internet server in your facility,
plus saves you the cost of hardware which is needed for higher speed
dedicated connections.
The server can run any operating system (Macintosh, Windows or various
flavors of Unix) and may be used for any purpose that requires direct
access to the Internet's backbone; for example, Web Server, Mail
Server,
FTP Server, Real Audio Server, IRC Server, etc. If you need
a server built and configured for you, we can do that as well.
You will be able to remotely administer your server through command
prompts (Unix), FTP, and/or with programs such as Timbuktu or PC Anywhere.
You will be welcomed at our location if you need to physically administer
your machine.
